How to convert from Word Wheel to Browse Index Buttons

With some internet browsers, the Word Wheel fails. The following solution only applies to search pages that will use WebPublisher PRO version 8 or greater.

To convert from Word Wheel to Inmagic's Query Choices Browser "browse index buttons" in the already exported and customized search screen file, open the search screen file in Notepad, then find each occurrence of the webot (which is the Word Wheel) and change the code in the following manner.

For example, this word wheel would display the index of three fields--Title, Subtitle, and Source.

<!--webbot bot="HTMLMarkup" startspan -->
<script language=JavaScript>

<param name="tbname" value="Catalog">
<param name="field" value="Title|Subtitle|Source">
<param name="boxname" value="QI0">
<param name="title" value="Title ">
<param name="termfirst" value="512">
<param name="termlist" value="1 | 1 | 1">
<param name="wordlist" value="1 | 1 | 1">
<param name="type" value="1 | 1 | 1">
<!--webbot bot="HTMLMarkup" endspan -->

change the above to

<input type="button" value="Browse" onclick="ibc('QI0','Title|Subtitle|Source','Title|Subtitle|Source', 1, 0, 0, '','0')" />

Notice the added <td>.

In the first search prompt, the word wheel used QI0. This must be the same for the browse button's ibc function's first element.

In the second search prompt, the QI1 is used in the word wheel and must also be used for the browse button's ibc function's first element.

as shown here.

<table border=0 CELLSPACING=0>
<tr><td><font size=2 COLOR=#000000 ALIGN="right"><b>Author </b></font><br/></td>
<tr><td><input name="QB1" type="hidden" value="AND"><input name="QF1" type="hidden" value="Author">
<input name="QI1" type="text" size=54></td>
<input type="button" value="Browse" onclick="ibc('QI1','Author','Author ', 1, 0, 0, '','0')" /></td>

After making these changes, save the file, then refresh the search screen in the bowser. Then give it a try.
